ISLAMIC, Umayyad Caliphate. temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, AH 65-86 / AD 685-705. Pashiz (Bronze, 19 mm, 0.80 g, 6 h), possibly derived from Byzantine issues showing Constans II, without mint and date. Draped, bearded and possibly bare-headed bust facing; to left, AFZUT GDH ('may his kingship increase' in Pahlawi); to right, uncertain legend. Rev. Legend in blundered Pahlawi in two lines; below, three large circles. Album 44U. Gyselen -. Unpublished save for its previous auction appearance. Good very fine.

The crude portrait on the obverse is likely derived from Byzantine issues of Constans II.
